A Major Decision

So, if you follow my blog, you know that we have set our date to be July 30, 2011.

Well, things have changed.

We know that we need to move and get a bigger space for our family.

We can't spend all this money on a wedding and then come back to a 1 bedroom apartment. That just wouldn't be right.

Our family is our #1 priority and moving is on the top of our list, therefore, we have decided to push our wedding back again but this time to Spring 2012.

I am not going anywhere and Tyrone is not going anywhere so there is no need to rush. We can find a new place, get settled in and have plenty of time to plan the wedding.

No need to penny pinch either.

I was starting to have second thoughts about the place we decided as our reception location anyway.

EVERYTHING happens for a reason.

Spring 2012, we will have the wedding of our dreams...I CANT WAIT!!!

Fantasea Yachts (Continued)

So, I tried to post about this the day after our original wedding date of 10-10-10.

Well, the whole process with Fantasea Yachts has been an emotional roller coaster and I felt like in the end it would be a legal battle.

The terms of the contract state that if they booked that same date and time frame, then we would get our money back less $1,000. We had gone to talk to the sales rep (who is a little bitch by the way) and the general manager. We wanted to talk to the owner but that was not the case.

Anywho, the ENTIRE time since we released our date, we would call and check on the status and some people would say that it HAS been booked and others would say it has NOT been booked. This happened for 8 months!!! We just knew they were lying and the only way we would really know was if we went there on 10-10-10 to check everything out.

So 10-10-10 is here and myself and one of my LA Knotties make it there around 9:40 am in case they have a 10:00 am wedding.

The boat was still there and it didnt look like anything was going on.

We then went over to the actual offices where the other two boats are docked and you can see people moving around and getting things ready.

I still had a little hope since it was still early and the boat wouldn't be moved until about an hour prior to boarding. The question was, wouldn't there be some people getting everything ready on the boat now though?

Well, we went back and looked and looked and then we saw some flowers. We hurried and made our way back into the parking lot. We saw a guy coming out and we were trying to ask him some questions. He didn't speak English so I had to use my rusty ass Spanish. Turns out the flowers were from the night before.

My biggest fear started to turn into a reality. It looked like the boat was NOT booked and we would be out of $2500.

As 11:30 came, I knew it was a done deal. The boat in fact was NOT rebooked.

The only way we could "get the money back" was if we were to book another event with them. According to the contract, the ENTIRE $2500 would be put towards another date and time. According to the general manager, we would still lose $1000.

I said SCREW THIS and said that I would deal with it later.

I am hoping that someone else would like to use the money towards it so we can get SOMETHING back.

I guess time will tell.

I know one thing...I will NOT be leaving anymore deposits unless we are 1000% sure that is what we want to do.

END OF STORY!

I have closure and I am ok with that.

Fantasea Yachts

This whole process has been an emotional roller coaster.

They have played games with us the ENTIRE time!

TO BE CONTINUED!

(I have a lot more to say and I am not sure I am ready to do this)

The Infamous 10-10-10

Well, yesterday was our original wedding date. Leading up to the day, I felt fine but I knew that I would have to deal with the date actually being here as well as going to take care of some business with Fantasea Yachts.

It was a TON of different emotions that I felt yesterday. Tyrone knew that I was down even though I was trying NOT to show it.

In the end, I know that there is a reason that 10-10-10 did not happen for us and I am alright with that. I have found peace.

The time has now come and gone and it is time to move forward with our July 30, 2011 plans.

I must say that I am glad that 10-10-10 is all said and done and now I can move on and not think about all the what ifs.

Wedding Website

I searched and searched and searched and was not pleased by any of the wedding websites that I saw.

I did find one that I thought was different BUT I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to pay for something since all it meant was I would have an extra expense to take care of...NOT really feeling that at all!

So, I FINALLY came across a site in which I could either use their preloaded templates OR I could make everything from scratch...

Here is a sample of the home page which is still a work in progress.

I am excited about it though..WOO HOO!!!

Choosing a Day of Coordinator

Yes, this is another expense, however, it may be the best investment possible.

There needs to be SOMEONE there the day of our wedding that be overlooking everything and making sure that everything runs smoothly.

I have to make a decision.

There was a girl that I went to elementary school with that has a company and she reached out to me and I am interested in booking her, however, an LA Knottie favorite Day of Coordinator, I have seen her in action and I have been pleased.

The ball is in my court. I should have made a phone call to my elementary school buddy but I haven't quite done that yet.

The things we have to do...lol

I know that this is something that I need to lock down ASAP.

The LA Knottie favorite has a lot more to offer for her price BUT at the same time, my elementary buddy said that she would be more than happy to work with me.

We shall see what I decide!
