So Excited!

So I feel like we will finally be able to have the wedding that we want!

Pushing it back was hard but EVERYTHING happens for a reason...I dont know why we had to push our wedding back and I may not ever know but I know that God has his reasoning for it.

No more feeling down about it.

2012 will be here before we know it!

Back Into Planning Mode

So I miss planning.
I miss everything about planning.

I am ready to start planning our wedding again.

There have been so many things happening that have prevented me from being able to plan but I am ready to jump back in.

Yes, we are going to have a 2012 wedding but I am ready to get this planning on the road. In just one more day, I will be able to say, my wedding is Next Year...I cant wait!

Where Have I Been???

Well, well, well...here I go again...

I have been MIA again.

Here is the deal...I think I may be MIA until we get settled into our spot...whenever we find it...

Until then...

I Think It Just Hit Me

So, 2011 is one popular year to get married amongst my friends. Aside from that, there are many girls that I talk to on TheKnot.com on a daily basis who are also getting married next year as well.

For a little bit, I was ok with our wedding being pushed back to 2012 BUT now I think it is starting to hit me...I still want to get married next year.

The more I think about it, the more I know that it is best for us to wait BUT just the fact that I still have to wait is what is getting me.

I feel like I have been in this whole planning mode for quite some time now and I am ready for it to be done and over...

:-(

Oh well...it is what it is...

Venue Searching

So now that we have decided to push our wedding back, we get to look for venues all over again.

I may go back to the original plan that I had (of course I am not quite telling yet...lol) and live that out.

It feels good to be able to put some venues back into the possibilities because of the season change as well as having more money available to use.

I am SUPER excited about it! Yes it is a lot of work but I have already started gathering information.

After I have gathered all the possibilities, I will place all the info into a spreadsheet and rank them and then start going to check these places out.

CANT WAIT!!!

WOO HOO!!!

Nothing Suprises Me

I must say that after we pushed our wedding back from 10-10-10, nothing can really surprise me.

So, pushing our wedding back again is something that I am ok with...it is something that needed to be done anyway.

The ONLY surprise I would say would be if the wedding were to be called off and that is NOT happening.

A Major Decision

So, if you follow my blog, you know that we have set our date to be July 30, 2011.

Well, things have changed.

We know that we need to move and get a bigger space for our family.

We can't spend all this money on a wedding and then come back to a 1 bedroom apartment. That just wouldn't be right.

Our family is our #1 priority and moving is on the top of our list, therefore, we have decided to push our wedding back again but this time to Spring 2012.

I am not going anywhere and Tyrone is not going anywhere so there is no need to rush. We can find a new place, get settled in and have plenty of time to plan the wedding.

No need to penny pinch either.

I was starting to have second thoughts about the place we decided as our reception location anyway.

EVERYTHING happens for a reason.

Spring 2012, we will have the wedding of our dreams...I CANT WAIT!!!

Fantasea Yachts (Continued)

So, I tried to post about this the day after our original wedding date of 10-10-10.

Well, the whole process with Fantasea Yachts has been an emotional roller coaster and I felt like in the end it would be a legal battle.

The terms of the contract state that if they booked that same date and time frame, then we would get our money back less $1,000. We had gone to talk to the sales rep (who is a little bitch by the way) and the general manager. We wanted to talk to the owner but that was not the case.

Anywho, the ENTIRE time since we released our date, we would call and check on the status and some people would say that it HAS been booked and others would say it has NOT been booked. This happened for 8 months!!! We just knew they were lying and the only way we would really know was if we went there on 10-10-10 to check everything out.

So 10-10-10 is here and myself and one of my LA Knotties make it there around 9:40 am in case they have a 10:00 am wedding.

The boat was still there and it didnt look like anything was going on.

We then went over to the actual offices where the other two boats are docked and you can see people moving around and getting things ready.

I still had a little hope since it was still early and the boat wouldn't be moved until about an hour prior to boarding. The question was, wouldn't there be some people getting everything ready on the boat now though?

Well, we went back and looked and looked and then we saw some flowers. We hurried and made our way back into the parking lot. We saw a guy coming out and we were trying to ask him some questions. He didn't speak English so I had to use my rusty ass Spanish. Turns out the flowers were from the night before.

My biggest fear started to turn into a reality. It looked like the boat was NOT booked and we would be out of $2500.

As 11:30 came, I knew it was a done deal. The boat in fact was NOT rebooked.

The only way we could "get the money back" was if we were to book another event with them. According to the contract, the ENTIRE $2500 would be put towards another date and time. According to the general manager, we would still lose $1000.

I said SCREW THIS and said that I would deal with it later.

I am hoping that someone else would like to use the money towards it so we can get SOMETHING back.

I guess time will tell.

I know one thing...I will NOT be leaving anymore deposits unless we are 1000% sure that is what we want to do.

END OF STORY!

I have closure and I am ok with that.

Fantasea Yachts

This whole process has been an emotional roller coaster.

They have played games with us the ENTIRE time!

TO BE CONTINUED!

(I have a lot more to say and I am not sure I am ready to do this)

The Infamous 10-10-10

Well, yesterday was our original wedding date. Leading up to the day, I felt fine but I knew that I would have to deal with the date actually being here as well as going to take care of some business with Fantasea Yachts.

It was a TON of different emotions that I felt yesterday. Tyrone knew that I was down even though I was trying NOT to show it.

In the end, I know that there is a reason that 10-10-10 did not happen for us and I am alright with that. I have found peace.

The time has now come and gone and it is time to move forward with our July 30, 2011 plans.

I must say that I am glad that 10-10-10 is all said and done and now I can move on and not think about all the what ifs.

Wedding Website

I searched and searched and searched and was not pleased by any of the wedding websites that I saw.

I did find one that I thought was different BUT I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to pay for something since all it meant was I would have an extra expense to take care of...NOT really feeling that at all!

So, I FINALLY came across a site in which I could either use their preloaded templates OR I could make everything from scratch...

Here is a sample of the home page which is still a work in progress.

I am excited about it though..WOO HOO!!!

Photobucket

Monogram

So I was playing around and came up with a monogram...WOO HOO!!!

I showed it to Ty and he likes it...CHECK!!!

Here it is!!!

Choosing a Day of Coordinator

Yes, this is another expense, however, it may be the best investment possible.

There needs to be SOMEONE there the day of our wedding that be overlooking everything and making sure that everything runs smoothly.

I have to make a decision.

There was a girl that I went to elementary school with that has a company and she reached out to me and I am interested in booking her, however, an LA Knottie favorite Day of Coordinator, I have seen her in action and I have been pleased.

The ball is in my court. I should have made a phone call to my elementary school buddy but I haven't quite done that yet.

The things we have to do...lol

I know that this is something that I need to lock down ASAP.

The LA Knottie favorite has a lot more to offer for her price BUT at the same time, my elementary buddy said that she would be more than happy to work with me.

We shall see what I decide!

More Engagement Pictures

So we are going to be taking more engagement pictures.

There was an LA Knottie who gave us information on her brother in law that was doing free engagement sessions.

I reached out to him and we will be taking our pictures on October 20. SOOOOOOOOO excited about this!

Back in January, I still had some lingering pregnancy weight so it will be good to have more pictures done now that I am back to my normal size.

Cant wait to see how they come out!

Save the Dates

Save the Dates....DONE!!!

Well, at least for the most part they are done.

If you know Tyrone and I then you know that we like to be different.

Stay tuned for your Save the Dates which will be coming to you in the month of January.

Churches

Now that we have made a decision about our reception location, it is time to start looking at churches.

I found a church that I really liked, however it was 15 miles away and we are already having our guests drive a nice ways to make it to our wedding.

So, I found 3 churches that are within a 10 mile radius and can be driven by street to get to the reception location.

Here are our 3 choices.

- First Congregational Church of Corona

Photobucket

- Corona United Methodist Church

Photobucket

- Northpoint Evangelical Free Church

Photobucket

I know which decision we should make money wise, however, I like the look of another. We will be going to check these places out in person and make a decision from there.

Why Can't I Keep Up?

Why is it so hard for me to blog from time to time???

Arent I supposed to be sharing this entire experience with everyone?

Ok, time to get back on it!
(Lets see how long it takes for me to fall off...lol)

Battling With Myself

So, as I was choosing a date, there was something the I completely forgot about.

My BFF 30th Birthday

Although her birthday does not fall on the weekend, the date that I had chosen was just 2 days after her birthday and if she were to celebrate, more than likely that would be the weekend to do so.

I was battling with myself because July 30 was the date my heart was set on.

After so much thought and consideration, I have decided to keep it on July 30 and just make sure NOT to have any wedding related events on her actual birthday.

In the end, it is still our wedding and we have to do what we feel is best.

Until next time...

What I Need

Ok, so now that we have our date, location, etc, there are MANY things that we need to get taken care of.

- Linens
- Tables
- Chairs
- Glassware
- Silverware
- China
- Lighting
- Electricity
- Bar
- Dance Floor
- Tarp (Possibly)

I know there are more things to do BUT I cant think of them at the moment. I know it is time to get to business now...thats for sure!

July 30, 2011

So I am going to start going forward with planning a wedding for 7/30/11

Church - Available

Reception Location - Available

Caterer - Available

Photographer - Available

Minister/Officiant - Need to check availability.

I guess we arent TOO behind

Setting A Date

So I am trying to pick a date and we are looking into July so here is what we are looking at.

July 2 - Not sure about this because of it being a holiday weekend.

July 9 - Aunts birthday and although she said she wouldnt mind us getting married on her birthday, I just dont feel right about it.

July 16 - Someone (no names mentioned) doesnt want anyone getting married on her birthday

July 23 - My cousins original wedding date and although it has been pushed back, I feel like I would be stepping on her toes if I were to choose this date.

July 30 - Looks like this is what it is...so lets see what Ty has to say about it.

FINALLY!

WoW!

A lot has happened in the past month since I have posted anything. On a brighter note, it looks like we have made a decision.

After losing money with Fantasea Yachts, we knew that we needed to be 110% sure that we were going to go with another venue and be happy with it and not make such a haste decision again.

I am proud to say that WE HAVE MADE OUR DECISION!!!

Woo Hoo!

I am inspired...

I am now ready to go out and start finding deco ideas that I want for the wedding.

Instead of just thinking about things, I am at a point where I need to start getting things written down on paper, saved on the laptop, etc.

So, HERE WE GO!!!

Saturday, August 7, 2010

SERIOUSLY!

What is up with me and planning?!?

I have been speaking with my friend Linda, a fellow bride and she is putting fire under my ass to get this planning on the road.

Tyrone and I are currently in the process of looking for somewhere bigger to stay so that has been our main focus instead of wedding planning.

What I have to keep in mind is that MANY people get married in the summer and that is when we are planning our wedding.

So I need to get on the ball.

1....2...3....GO!!!

Friday, July 23, 2010

I AM IN LOVE!!!

NOT with Tyrone!!!

At least that is not who or what I am referring to in this post.

I have been to many venues and I keep going back to this one particular venue which I cannot get my mind off of.

It is an outside venue in Pasadena...with an option to have something go on inside. I must say that I am IN LOVE!

They allow outside catering for a $200 fee (which is VERY minimal), however, I need to figure this whole catering thing out.

My great uncle is licensed and insured in Alabama and the location does not have a kitchen on site which is what he needs.

I can visualize EVERYTHING about my wedding here...EVERYTHING!

Is it worth it to have my great uncle cater if we do decide to go with this place?

DECISIONS DECISIONS DECISIONS

I will do my research and see what the best option is.

In the meantime, I will keep looking.

Asking My Great Uncle to Cater

So for a long time, I didnt even know that my great uncle was into the culinary business. I found this out during my brothers graduation time.

All of a sudden I had this brilliant idea of him catering the wedding. I was a little nervous to ask him but my mom but a bug in his ear and he was all for it.

A few days later, I made the phone call to him and he said that he would do the wedding and I just needed to provide him with the food and some help and get him a round trip plane ticket.

DEAL!!!

Now, here we are looking for venues. There are some GORGEOUS venues out there BUT we have to see if they allow outside catering and if they do, what fees are associated with it, what are the requirements, etc.

Needless to say, I AM ON IT!

LETS GET IT!!!

More Engagement Pics???

So we took our engagement pics back in January...now that our wedding has been pushed back, does it make sense to take more engagement pics?

I would LOVE to do night time pics...

Yes the money could be spent somewhere else but I feel like the pictures will be outdated by our wedding next year.

DECISIONS...DECISIONS...DECISIONS...

Michaels Trip

So I went to Michales yesterday on a whim to check out some cardstock and scrapbhook papers that I could possibly use to create my Will You Be My Bridesmaid cards...

First of all, that was 30% off

THEN I went to look at the paper cutters since I know I will be needing one and it was 40% off...I LOVE IT!

But it gets better, they had a circle paper cutter for $8 which is normally $20...I HAD to get it.

I showed Tyrone and he was like what the hell is that for?

I told him, its for the stuff that will go on the chargers...

A wedding that I went to last October they had the menu with an engagement pic on top of the charger...I MUST use that idea...

I am so excited!!!

I only spent about $25...WOO HOO!!!

SOOOOOOOO excited!!!

Just had to share my excitement...I am sooooooooooooooooooo ready for all of the designing elements of my wedding...time to start playing around with different ideas...WOOT WOOT!!!

Everything Happens for A Reason

So I made a post on Facebook the other night and it said...

Gathering information on potential wedding venues...
Next Step: Make Appointments to go check these places out...
And the wedding planning is officially back into gear...

A few people responded BUT there was one girl that I hadn't talked to in years...I had JUST run into her at Claim Jumper on Fathers Day and we said hi and asked how everything was and that was about it (Tyrone and I were eating)...

The next day or so, we became friends on FB and are now "reunited" I guess you can say. She sent me a message in response to my post and it turns out she is a part time wedding coordinator!

She asked if I needed any help...my response was YES I DO YES I DO!

Then I asked what her rates are, etc...

She said she wasn't talking about having me as a client. I joked with her asking, why doesn't she want me as a client???

Her response was...

What's the point in having friends who can help if they need to get something out of it. I don't mind helping at all.

This made my day! I was JUST telling Tyrone that I would much rather work with someone that I already know...

I have known her for about 10 years now so she has seen us since the beginning stages of our relationship.

This is AMAZING!!!

EVERYTHING happens for a reason! There was a reason Tyrone suggested Claim Jumper for dinner...

There was a reason we ran into her...

Oh and I must say she is on top of it! She has ALREADY emailed me requesting information from me...she is NOT playing!

I am excited to be working with her...that's for sure!

Wedding Planner - Entire Process vs. Day Of

Initially, I had a wedding planner.

Her prices were reasonable and she is a very nice woman.

PROBLEM: I feel like she was not listening to what I wanted and we were NOT a match. Yes, she offered her services for free, however, if we are not clicking or you are not helpful, we need to salvage the relationship that we do have and move on.

Now, here I am questioning whether or not I even want to deal with a planner at all. I do not want to put anything on anyone to be responsible for the day of so now I am wondering if I get a Day of Coordinator.

DECISIONS...DECISIONS...DECISIONS...

I think a person for the day of to be there for me would really help out but for the rest of the process, I feel like this is my baby and I want to control ALL of it and don't want anyone in the way.

Am I crazy???

Negotiations...

So, ANYTIME someone hears the word "wedding," prices triple and quadruple.

With that being said, they know that if you love what they have to offer then you are going to go for it.

Do you just go with the flow or do you try to negotiate? I feel like anything is possible. Yes they are going to take advantage of those that are willing to pay full price but there are ways that you can negotiate.

So, are you bold?

Do you go in and try to negotiate yourself?

Do you do it as a couple?

Hmmmm...I just know my ass needs to negotiate...PERIOD!

Need to See More Venues

Now that I have started to get back into the swing of things, I need to keep it going.

Yes I saw 3 venues and I liked them all but it doesnt stop there. I need to break out the notebook and get on it! There are so many places out there that I need to check out but FIRST I need to make appointments.

Lets go Team Kanieka!!!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Checking Out Venues

This past Saturday, I scheduled some appointments to go look at venues. It was weird because this would be the first time in a very long time. I must say that I am pleased with the outcome. I only had 1 appointment initially but I decided I needed to make more than 1 appointment.

(1) Castle Green
http://castlegreen.com/

Really liked this place. We would have use of the whole 1st floor as well as outside. The lady that I met with was really cool and down to earth. Took a tour and was impressed by what I saw. For those of you that watch, My Fair Wedding w/ David Tutera, the venue will be on the season finale.

(2) Calamigos Equestrian
http://www.calamigosequestrian.com/weddings/

When I first got to this place I was a little lost but I finally figured it out. There were horse competitions going on today so it was a little akward but where the wedding and reception would take place is further up from there. I liked the lady that I met with here as well. I really like the Equestrian Room with the ceremony outside in front of the waterfall...really really nice.

(3) Pasadena Museum of California Art
http://losangeles.weddings.com/Local/losangeles-Pasadena-Museum-of-California-Art/VendorDetail.aspx/CAR-212144

BEAUTIFUL!!!
This venue is AMAZING! You are on the rooftop and the views are just beautiful! They were setting up for a wedding so I was able to see how it would look. With our guest count, we can do the ceremony inside or outside...our choice. I liked the lady here as well.

Overall, today was a good day. I am happy to say that I am pleased with the way things have started up for me.

Asking My Bridesmaids...AGAIN!

So I wanted to do something special when I asked my girls to be Bridesmaids in my wedding. Not being patient and trying to figure it out, I asked each of them anyway without doing anything special.

I wish I would have done it differently.

Now that my wedding has been pushed back, I think I want to ask them again. I want to do it in a special way. I guess I need to start thinking about how I want to do it and actually go through with it this time around.

I want it to be something that they remember. I don't want them to think well, she just asked me out of the blue. I am not saying that they will but at the same time, I want it to be something that holds a special place in their heart.

Perhaps a special designed card or something...

I dont know...I have time...

Feels So Far Away

Just when I felt our big day was getting closer, now it feels so far away.

Part of it I'm sure is because we don't have a date set yet. When will it start to feel like it is going to happen again?

I guess its a little discouraging to feel like this. I do hope that I shake this feeling because it is NOT fun at all!

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

June 1, 2010 - BACK TO WEDDING PLANNING!

Well well well...it didnt seem like this day would ever come...

It is time to OFFICIALLY get back into wedding planning...I am soooooooooooooooo excited! I must say that I am a little worried about this whole venue situation again only because it was soooooooooooooooooo hard the last time.

Will we like anything that is out there?

Will we have a difficult time picking a venue like we did before?

Will I feel like I have lost my mind?

Will I break down?

There are so many questions that I have going through my head right now.

Overall, I am ready to get this show on the road again so I can marry the love of my life.

LETS GO TEAM KANIEKA!!!

And the research begins again...

Ready to Jump Back In

I feel like I am out of touch with planning.

I have been planning my daughters 1st birthday party so Tyrone and I agreed that we would put the wedding plans on hold until AFTER the birthday party.

I said June 1, I would jump right back it...IM READY!

I see all these Knotties and what they are doing and I feel so out of the loop.

IM READY IM READY IM READY

I have had so much fun planning the babys party and am hoping for that same excitement when I get back into the wedding planning.

Only time will tell.

More Possible Wedding Colors

So since the purple and orange was a NO GO, I knew that I needed to figure out more colors. On my way to work this morning, I had an epiphany. I thought TURQUOISE AND YELLOW!!!

Tyrone still wants purple to be one of our colors so I did a google search for those colors and no luck.

I put them all together myself and here is what they look like...

Photobucket

Now, ONCE AGAIN, I have to present this to Tyrone and see if he likes it or not.

Crossing my fingers that he will not just shoot this down like he did the purple and orange.

Not saying that if he likes these colors then that will be the final decision because that will not be the case. That can be an option.

We shall see.

Purple and Orange - NO GO!

So as thrilled as I was about sharing this new color palette to Tyrone, I was rather disappointed when he IMMEDIATELY shot me down...

He didnt look at any pictures or anything...he just said he doesnt like it.

WHAT A SHAME!

Well, at least I know that he still wants to keep purple as one of the colors.

I guess we shall see what happens now.

Disappointed,
Team Purple and Orange

Possible Wedding Colors

For our original date of 10-10-10, we chose to go with Purple and Silver for our wedding colors.

Now that we are having a Spring/Summer wedding, I felt like we needed something a little more bright.

As I was going to sleep last night, I had a visual of purple and orange and I think I am in love now!

Here is the catch...I have to get Tyrone to like it too...LoL!

I will probably throw the idea out there to Ty to see if he likes it...I am crossing my fingers to see if he likes it...

We will see what happens...

LA Knotties GTG

When I first found TheKnot.com, I had NO IDEA what amazing women I would come across.

Well, I absolutely ADORE the Los Angeles Knotties.

We have gotten together a couple of times since I have been a member of TheKnot.com. This past Saturday, we got together to have a Bowling Bachelorette Party for LA Knottie Jennifer.

There were 8 of us in total (although Mel coudnt stay...) and we had an AMAZING time!

Take a sneak peak at our pictures captured by former Knottie Laura Laing!

THANKS LAURA!!! Your work is AMAZING!

Planning Hiatus

So our baby girl will be turning 1 next Friday and we are in the process of finalizing all the details for her 1st birthday party.

In order to focus on this amazing event, I had to step back from planning. This is ok since we have pushed our wedding back and havent really started to get into the planning process again just yet.

I miss planning but at the same time, I am having a wonderful time planning the birthday party.

Its funny to me how much fun I am having planning the party but did NOT get this same feeling while planning the 10-10-10 wedding.

CLEARLY we may the best and most rational decision by pushing it back.

Oh to feel like to while planning the wedding...would be AWESOME! I think it is coming...but it has to be on hold.

June 1, I am back to wedding planning FULL FORCE!

Wedding Planning Bio

I have seen so many bios and felt like mine was NOT up to par. I think it is time to work on it ASAP so I can start beginning to put all of my ideas and inspiration in one place.

Ok...so in starting this post, I have now started a new planning bio.

Check it out...

Colors: To Change or NOT to Change

Original Date: 10-10-10
Fall Wedding
Colors: Purple and Silver

New Date: None Selected
Spring/Summer Wedding
Colors: None Selected

When I think fall wedding, I think of the more darker colors such as royal purple, browns, darker oranges and yellows, darker greens, etc.

When I think spring wedding, I think of bright yellows, oranges, pinks, turquoise, etc.

So, here we are with a wedding in a different season.

Do we change our colors or do we keep the colors we originally had?

OR, do we just add a brighter color to the palette?

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

And the Venue Search Begins...AGAIN!

Here I am on Sunday night after 11 pm blogging and putting my wedding notebook back in order.

I thought I had made all the appointments, gotten all the quotes and made a final decision on a venue...WRONG!

A wedding is not just about the bride...it is about the bride AND groom. Well, in MANY cases, the groom just shows up...NOT MINE!

Tyrone must have a say so on just about everything! The venue that my heart was set on was a no go because he was not as enthused about it as I was.

Needless to say, we must keep looking.

Now that we have not set a date, we have TONS of options to choose from.

Redoing my wedding notebook makes me realize that I have to do this all over again. It is such a drag. I hate it!

Why the hell are not one but BOTH of us so damn picky?!?

Can we pick a venue and get it over with...MY GOODNESS! This is part of the reason the wedding needed to be moved back...no freakin venue!

Praying For A Refund

This wedding planning journey has been quite the learning experience.

If I have learned anything it is, DO NOT MAKE IMPULSE DECISIONS! Back in November, we booked our wedding on a yacht.

Photobucket

We thought it was the most amazing and wonderful thing that we could ever imagine. We dealt with a sales rep (no name given) who made it seem like this was the best thing ever and made us feel like this was the deal of a lifetime! The wedding would have been at 10 am in the morning.

Tyrone mentioned that we should see what else is out there because he felt like we were "scammed." Needless to say, there were other options out there for cheaper AND with additional features. We thought it would be no problem getting our money back (because of what "no name given" was telling us)...

WE THOUGHT WRONG!

We were now out of $2500 and could recoop ONLY $1500 IF someone else booked that date and time. We released the date at the beginning of February.

Here we are going into May and they claim not to be booked.

I was told by 2 different people that there WERE booked but when I called, they werent. I put a coworker up to it and they told her they were available.

So here I am PRAYING that we get our money back.

Even if we do get it back, we wont get it back until the day AFTER we were supposed to have the wedding.

Lord, please show us favor.

P.S. My brothers prom is with this same company...UGH...Wish our money could have gone toward that and we be compensated by the school...oh well...

Changing Our Date

So, when we first got engaged, there wasn't too much thought that was put into choosing a wedding date. When we became engaged, I was 6 months pregnant with our daughter and she was the focus. A few months after she was born, we were going to Del Amo Mall and we then started talking about dates.

We both had always dreamed of a Spring or Summer wedding but we figured that wouldn't have been enough time for us. Then Tyrone started throwing out random dates. He said 9-11 and I told him he is INSANE! Then he said, 10-10. He said we will have been together for 10 years. I said WAIT A MINUTE! I said, it will be 10 years and 10 months. I IMMEDIATELY check my calendar and saw that it was a Sunday...I said PERFECT! At that time, our date was set!

A few months later is when I started to get into the whole planning process and I started looking for places where we can get married. There were ALREADY a lot of places that were booked and had been booked for quite some time because of the date. I didn't know why so many people wanted this date. For us, it was something special but for others, they just liked the date.

Anyway, many options were OUT because they were already booked. I started making appointments and we went to go see some venues. Nothing really stood out. Then we finally thought we found something.

BIG MISTAKE!!! We let them sucker us into leaving a deposit for a 10 AM wedding...our hearts just were not there.

Unfortunately, we lost money since we decided to pull out. We were disappointed about it but we knew that we needed to move on.

I started making appointments again but there were even more options that were out because more time had passed and more people had booked other venues that had still been available.

After searching and searching, I finally found "The One." I made an appointment for Tyrone to go check it out and he was NOT as enthused about it as I was. My poor dreams were CRUSHED!

I broke down due to all the stress of planning, in addition to our baby girls birthday, Tyrone just opening a restaurant and my brothers prom and graduation.

As much as I did not want to let 10-10-10 go, I had been battling with myself for a week or so about changing the date. I knew that it was something that needed to be done but I wasn't ready to let it go.

In the end, I spoke with Tyrone and he made a valid point. He said that nothing is going our way in terms of finding a place, losing money, etc. An hour or so later, I admitted that I had been thinking that changing the date was the best idea but I didn't want to admit it to him.

We were actually both relieved.

We have decided that it is best to push the wedding back to Spring 2011. This way, so many more options are now open and we can have the wedding of our dreams!

We have not set a date yet BUT we are looking at April, May or June of 2011.

LET THE PLANNING BEGIN!!!
